Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  1. Remove the tailgate lock barrel assembly (refer to procedure contained in this section).

  1. Disconnect the motor to lock actuating rod.

  1. Disconnect the multiplug and ground lead.
    1. Disconnect the multiplug.
    1. Remove the ground lead retaining bolt.

  1. Remove the two motor retaining screws.

  1. Remove the motor.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the actuating rod is correctly located in the lock lever when refitting.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
