General notes - Necessary removal work: Door, weatherstrip, side window, rear seat, trunk lid, rear bumper, wheel arch trim, rear lamp, quarter panel trim.
- Move the folding roof into the operating position.
- Reposition the carpeting and the wiring harness away from the working area.

Quarter panel - Separating cut.
- Mill out the spot welds.
- Grind out the spot welds.

Quarter panel - Mill out the spot welds (two panel thicknesses).

Quarter panel - Mill out the spot welds.
- Grind through one panel thickness at the wheel arch edge.
| Installation NOTE:Before resistance spot welding of body panels with a total panel thickness of 3 mm and greater, the welding equipment instructions contained in sub-section 501-25 must be followed. | -
Quarter panel - Punch holes for puddle welding.

Quarter panel - Apply 2-pack metal adhesive to the swaged edge and swage the wheel arch flange.
- Resistance spot weld.
- Puddle weld.
