Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE:

  1. Torque: 9 Nm

  1. General Equipment: Hose clamp remover/installer

  1. Torque: 20 Nm

  1. Torque: 12 Nm

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the exhaust flexible pipe is not forcibly bent.
    General Equipment: Tire lever
    Torque: 48 Nm

  1. Torque: 25 Nm

  1. Torque: 55 Nm

  1. Torque: 9 Nm

    1. Torque: 4 Nm
    1. Torque: 18 Nm

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the cylinder head is at ambient air temperature before removing the cylinder head bolts.
    Special Tool(s): 303-392

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that new cylinder head bolts are installed.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that no fluids are present in the cylinder head bolt threaded bores.
    Special Tool(s): 303-392
    Torque:
    Stage 1:
    15 Nm
    Stage 2:
    30 Nm
    Stage 3:
    90°
  1. Change the engine oil and oil filter.
    Refer to: Specifications (303-01A Engine - 1.4L Duratec-16V (Sigma)/1.6L Duratec-16V (Sigma), Specifications).
