Removal and Installation

General Equipment
30 mm M8 Bolts (x2)
WARNING:
WARNING:The cooling fan motor is under the control of the powertrain control module (PCM) and can operate after the ignition key has been removed. Before working on or near the cooling fan, disconnect the battery ground cable. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
    For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

  1. Remove the air deflector.

  1. Detach the hood lock cylinder from the radiator grille and remove the radiator grille.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

  1. Remove the engine undershield.

6. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Initialize the door window motors.
    For additional information, refer to: Door Window Motor Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).

Removal Details

Item 6 : Radiator support bracket front retaining bolts
  1. Install temporary radiator support bracket front retaining bolts.
    • Remove the radiator support bracket front retaining bolts.
    • Install 30 mm M8 bolts leaving 15 mm of thread exposed.

Item 9 : Air conditioning (A/C) condenser

  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Detach the A/C condenser (if equipped) from the radiator.
    1. Press in the radiator A/C condenser retaining clip.
    1. Slide the A/C condenser upwards

Item 10 : Cooling fan motor and shroud

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

  1. Press in the cooling fan motor and shroud retaining clips. Lift up the cooling fan shroud until clear of the retaining brackets. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.

Installation Details

Item 6 : Radiator support bracket front retaining bolts

  1. Install the radiator support bracket front retaining bolts.
    • Remove the temporary radiator support bracket 30 mm M8 retaining bolts.
    • Install the radiator support bracket front retaining bolts.

Item 4 : Charge air cooler intake hose

NOTE:
NOTE:Make sure that the inside of the charge air cooler intake hose is clean and free from any oil residue, as this will reduce the installation grip of the hose to the charge air cooler intake pipe and the charge air cooler.
