Removal and Installation

Cable ties
  1. Remove the accessory drive belt.
    For additional information, refer to: Accessory Drive Belt - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel (303-05A Accessory Drive, Removal and Installation).

2. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration(s) and table(s).

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Initialize the door window motors.
    For additional information, refer to: Door Window Motor Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).

Removal Details

Item 7 : Wiring harness

  1. Position the wiring harness to one side.

Item 8 : A/C compressor retaining bolts

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Item 9 : Wiring harness retaining bracket

NOTE:
NOTE:Make a note of the position of the wiring harness retaining bracket and make sure it is positioned in the same position when installed.

Item 10 : A/C compressor

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not place excessive strain on the A/C compressor refrigerant lines. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the A/C system leaking refrigerant.
    Using suitable cable ties, secure the A/C compressor to the radiator support bracket.

Item 11 : Generator decoupler retaining bolts

NOTE:
NOTE:Do not remove the generator decoupler retaining bolts from the generator.

Item 14 : Generator

  1. Lower the vehicle.
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Care must be taken when removing the generator past the coolant hoses and wiring harnesses. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the coolant hoses and wiring harnesses.
    Remove the generator

Installation Details

    Install the generator
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Item 10 : A/C compressor

  1. Remove and discard the cable ties.

Item 9 : Wiring harness retaining bracket

NOTE:
NOTE:Make sure the wiring harness retaining bracket is installed in the same position as removed

Item 8 : A/C compressor retaining bolts

  1. Lower the vehicle.
