Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Remove the air cleaner retaining bolts.

  1. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.

  1. Disconnect the turbocharger air recirculation valve from the turbocharger intake tube.

  1. Disconnect the air intake breather hose from the turbocharger intake tube.

  1. Disconnect the turbocharger wastegate control valve solenoid vacuum hose from the turbocharger intake tube.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make a note of the position of the clamp to make sure it is installed in the same position when installed.
    Disconnect the turbocharger intake tube from the turbocharger.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Detach the wastegate control valve solenoid from the air cleaner.

  1. Remove the front bumper undershield retaining screws.

  1. Remove the front bumper undershield retaining screws.

  1. Remove the front bumper undershield retaining screws.

  1. Remove the front bumper undershield retaining screws.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Support the front bumper undershield
    Remove the front bumper undershield.
  1. Remove the left-hand front road wheel. For additional information, refer to Section  204-04 Wheels and Tires.

  1. Remove the fender splash shield.
    • Remove the screws

  1. Detach the air cleaner intake pipe from the body (front bumper shown removed for clarity).
    • Discard the retaining clip

  1. Remove the air cleaner retaining bolt.

  1. Remove the air cleaner.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new air cleaner intake pipe retaining clip.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
