Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. Drain the charge air cooler cooling system.
    For additional information, refer to Charge Air Cooler Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.

  1. Disconnect the degas hose from the charge air cooler.

  1. Disconnect the charge air cooler intake hose from the charge air cooler and position it to one side.

  1. Disconnect the charge air cooler outlet hose from the charge air cooler and position it to one side.

  1. Disconnect the charge air cooler coolant hose from the charge air cooler.

  1. Detach the charge air cooler.

  1. Disconnect the charge air cooler coolant hose from the charge air cooler.

  1. Disconnect the turbocharger air recirculation hose from the charge air cooler.
  1. Remove the charge air cooler.

Installation

CAUTION:
CAUTION:Make sure that the inside of the charge air cooler intake and outlet pipe ends are clean and free from any oil residue as this will reduce the installation grip of the pipe to the charge air cooler. Failure to follow this may result in damage to the engine.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Initialize the door window motors. For additional information, refer to Section  501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms.
