Remove the floor console. For additional information, refer to Section  501-12 Instrument Panel and Console.

NOTE:Make sure the selector lever is in the park position. NOTE:Make sure the ignition switch is in the ON position. Loosen the key release cable retaining bolt.

Push the outer sleeve of the key release cable to the rear of the vehicle until it stops.

Pull the outer sleeve of the key release cable to the front of the vehicle until a slight resistance is felt.

Tighten the key release cable retaining bolt.

NOTE:If the key release cable does not operate correctly, repeat the adjustment procedure. Check the operation of the key release cable before installing the floor console

Install the floor console. For additional information, refer to Section  501-12 Instrument Panel and Console.
