Removal and Installation

Removal

Vehicles with 90 PS or 115 PS diesel engine
  1. Drain the air conditioning (A/C) system.
    For additional information, refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, General Procedures).
All vehicles
  1. Drain the cooling system.
    For additional information, refer to: Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding (303-03B Engine Cooling - 1.9L Diesel, General Procedures).
  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
    For additional information, refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud (303-03B Engine Cooling - 1.9L Diesel, Removal and Installation).
Vehicles with 90 PS or 115 PS diesel engine
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Remove the retaining clip and disconnect the radiator upper hose from the radiator.

  1. Detach the power steering line from the radiator.

  1. Detach the power steering line from the A/C condenser.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Cap the refrigerant lines and the condenser core to prevent dirt ingress.
    Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser core.
    • Discard the O-ring seal.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Cap the refrigerant lines and the condenser core to prevent dirt ingress.
    Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser core.
    • Discard the O-ring seal.
Vehicles with 130 PS diesel engine

  1. Remove the retaining clip and disconnect the radiator upper hose from the radiator.

  1. Remove the radiator right-hand upper retaining bolt.

  1. Remove the radiator left-hand upper retaining bolt.
All vehicles
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

Vehicles with 90 PS or 115 PS diesel engine

  1. Remove the radiator right-hand retaining bolt.

  1. Remove the radiator left-hand retaining bolt.
Vehicles with 130 PS diesel engine

  1. Remove the retaining clip and disconnect the radiator lower hose from the radiator.

  1. Remove the radiator right-hand lower retaining bolt.

  1. Remove the radiator left-hand lower retaining bolt.
All vehicles

  1. Remove the radiator.
Vehicles with 90 PS or 115 PS diesel engine

  1. Remove the charge air cooler from the radiator.

  1. Remove the radiator from the A/C condenser core.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new refrigerant line O-ring seals.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
