Removal and Installation Removal | -
Disconnect the side window air ducts from the heater core housing. - Release the locking tang.

Remove the horn mounting bracket. | | -
Remove the air distribution channel right-hand retaining nut. | | -
Remove the pollen filter. - Release the locking tang.

Remove the pollen filter housing. | | -
Remove the air distribution channel left-hand retaining nut. | | -
Remove the air distribution channel. | | -
Remove the steering column upper shroud. | | -
Remove the steering column lower shroud. | | -
Detach the multifunction switches wiring harness from the steering column. - Remove the ground connection retaining nut.
- Unclip the wiring harness.

Disconnect the multifunction switches electrical connectors. - Detach the passive anti-theft system (PATS) transceiver.
| | -
Disconnect the multifunction switch assembly electrical connectors. | | -
Remove the multifunction switch assembly. | | -
Remove the fuse box cover. | | -
Detach the fuse box. - Remove the fuse box bracket retaining bolt.
- Release the locking tangs.

Detach the multifunction switches wiring harness. - Remove the ground connection retaining nut.
- Unclip the wiring harness.
| | -
Detach the center console wiring harness from the crashbar. | | -
Remove the right-hand ground connection retaining nut from the crashbar. | | -
Remove the left-hand ground connection retaining nut from the crashbar. | | -
Remove the crash bar retaining bolts from the bulkhead. | | -
Remove the crash bar retaining bolt from the pedal box. | | -
Detach the heater core housing wiring harness from the crashbar. | | -
Detach the main wiring harness from the crashbar. | | -
Remove the crash bar retaining bolts from the heater core housing. | | -
Disconnect the heater core housing upper electrical connectors. - Detach the wiring harness.

Disconnect the heater core housing lower electrical connectors. | | -
Disconnect the heater core housing right-hand electrical connectors. | CAUTION:Cap the refrigerant lines and the thermostatic expansion valve to prevent dirt ingress. | -
Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the thermostatic expansion valve. - Discard the O-ring seals.

Remove the thermostatic expansion valve. - Discard the O-ring seals.
| | -
Remove the heater core housing. | Installation | -
NOTE:Install new O-ring seals. NOTE:Coat the O-ring seals in clean refrigerant oil prior to installation. To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | |
