Fuel Tank and Lines - Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) - Cylindrical Fuel Tank Mondeo 1997 (08/1996-09/2000)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Evacuate the fuel tank and fuel lines. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00A Fuel System - General Information / 310-00B Fuel System - General Information.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the rear muffler heat shield.

  1. Disconnect the fuel line.

  1. Disconnect the fuel line.

  1. Disconnect the fuel line.
  1. Lower the vehicle.
  1. Remove the rear seat base.

  1. Disconnect the fuel tank electrical connectors.

  1. Fold down the rear seat backrest.

  1. Remove the fuel tank cover.

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Do not attempt to lift the fuel tank without the assistance of a floor crane. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
    Using a cradle and sling, remove the fuel tank.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Prime the fuel filter by re-fuelling the fuel tank.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and carry out the fuel system leak test. For additional information, refer to Section  310-00A Fuel System - General Information / 310-00B Fuel System - General Information.
