In-vehicle Repair

Removal

NOTE:
NOTE:This procedure covers all solenoids contained in the main control valve body.
  1. Remove the main control valve body.
    For additional information, refer to Main Control Valve Body in this section.

  1. Disconnect the shift solenoid electrical connectors.
    1. Disconnect the shift solenoid A electrical connector (colored brown).
    1. Disconnect the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid electrical connector (colored white).
    1. Disconnect the reduction solenoid electrical connector (colored white).
    1. Disconnect the low clutch timing solenoid electrical connector (colored white).
    1. Disconnect the shift solenoid B electrical connector (colored brown).
    1. Disconnect the shift solenoid C electrical connector (colored green).
    1. Disconnect the second, third and fourth gear brake duty solenoid electrical connector (colored white).
    1. Disconnect the neutral shift solenoid electrical connector (colored black).
    1. Disconnect the electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid electrical connector (colored green).

  1. Remove the shift solenoid A.

  1. Remove the TCC solenoid.

  1. Remove the reduction timing solenoid.
    • Remove the TCC solenoid retaining bracket.

  1. Remove the low clutch timing solenoid.

  1. Remove the shift solenoid B.

  1. Remove the shift solenoid C.

  1. Remove the second, third and fourth gear brake duty solenoid.

  1. Remove the neutral shift solenoid.
    • Remove the second, third and fourth gear brake duty solenoid bracket.

  1. Remove the EPC solenoid.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install all new components supplied with the service kit.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
