In-vehicle Repair Removal | -
Remove the cover plate from the cylinder head cover. | | -
Pull off the positive crankcase ventilation hose. - Open the wiring harness cover.
- Disconnect the hose.

Disconnect the plug and detach the dipstick tube. - Idle air control valve (IAC valve)
- Intake air temperature sensor (IAT sensor)

Disconnect the vacuum hoses and the plug. - Detach the brake servo vacuum hose.
- Detach the EVAP solenoid valve vacuum hose.
- Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
- Detach the throttle position sensor (TP sensor) multiplug.

Detach the accelerator cable. - Pull off the clip.
- Twist the cable out of the bracket.

Remove the drive belt cover. | | -
Slacken and remove the drive belt. | | -
Disconnect the generator. - Disconnect the plug and detach the wiring.

Remove the generator (shown on an engine removed from the vehicle). | | -
Remove the intake manifold. | | -
Remove the intake manifold. - Pull off the positive crankcase ventilation hose.

Remove the intake manifold. - Take out the intake manifold upwards.
| Installation | -
Install the intake manifold. | | -
Install the intake manifold. - Push on the positive crankcase ventilation hose.

Install the intake manifold. | | -
Install the generator (shown on an engine removed from the vehicle). | | -
Connect the generator. - Attach the wiring and connect the plug.

Fit and tension the drive belt. | | -
Fit the drive belt cover. | | -
Attach the throttle cable. - Fit the clip.
- Twist the cable into the bracket.

Connect the vacuum hoses and the plug. - Push on the brake servo vacuum hose.
- Push on the EVAP solenoid valve vacuum hose.
- Push on the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
- Connect the TP sensor multiplug.

Install the plug and the dipstick tube. - Connect the IAC valve plug.
- Connect the IAT sensor plug.
| | -
Push on the positive crankcase ventilation hose. - Push on the hose.
- Close the wiring harness cover.
| | -
NOTE:First screw in the bolts loosely, then align the cover and finally tighten the bolts. Fit the cover plate onto the cylinder head cover. | | |
