Disassembly

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Always place the cylinder head down onto a soft rubber surface.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:The new cylinder head is supplied with new valves but without studs.
    Detach the intake manifold.
    • Take off the rubber seal from the fuel distribution pipe.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Two plastic centering washers for the fuel distribution pipe.
    Detach the fuel distribution pipe and the front engine lifting eye.

  1. Remove the components.
    1. Detach the EI ignition coil.
    1. Detach the engine lifting eye.
    1. Detach the coolant hose spigot.
    1. Detach the coolant distribution pipe.

  1. Detach the exhaust manifold together with the gasket.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Adjustment shims underneath the bucket tappets.
    Remove the bucket tappets and keep them in order together with their adjustment shims.
    • Remove the spark plugs.

Assembly

  1. Fit new studs to the new cylinder head.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Lubricate the bucket tappets with engine oil prior to installation.
    Insert the bucket tappets and their adjustment shims.
    • Apply lubricant to the spark plug threads and install the spark plugs.

  1. Attach the exhaust manifold with the gasket.

  1. Fit the components.
    1. Install the EI ignition coil.
    1. Install the rear engine lifting eye.
    1. Install the coolant hose spigot.
    1. Install the coolant distribution pipe.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Two plastic centering washers for the fuel distribution pipe.
    Attach the fuel distribution pipe and the front engine lifting eye.

  1. Fit the intake manifold.
    • Place the rubber seal on the fuel distribution pipe.
