Removal and Installation General Equipment Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) Removal | -
Remove the hydraulic control unit (HCU). Refer to: Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (206-09B Anti-Lock Control - Traction Control, Removal and Installation). | | -
Wear an anti-static bracelet, connected to a suitable earthing point, to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to internal components and integrated circuits. | | -
CAUTION:Extreme cleanliness must be exercised when handling these components. Clamp the HCU body in a vise with the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module level and facing upwards. | | -
CAUTION:Make sure that all openings are sealed. | | -
WARNING:Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of corrosion and foreign material. CAUTION:Use lint free cloth. -
Remove any contamination or debris - DO NOT USE A CLEANING AGENT. -
If the contact surface or contact pins show any signs of damage or corrosion, a new HCU must be installed. | Installation | -
WARNING:Make sure that the module is correctly located on the hydraulic control unit (HCU). CAUTION:Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material. CAUTION:If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new module. CAUTION:Take extra care not to damage the seal. -
Using the outer edges of the ABS module, lower the module onto the HCU pump body. DO NOT APPLY PRESSURE ONTO THE MODULE COVER. -
If the module cover is damaged or deformed, install a new module. Torque: Stage 1: 1.5 Nm Stage 2: 2.0 Nm Stage 3: 3.0 Nm | | -
Install the HCU. Refer to: Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (206-09B Anti-Lock Control - Traction Control, Removal and Installation). | | -
Carry out the ABS Function Test. | | -
Carry out a road test. Refer to: Road/Roller Testing (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation). | | |
