Removal and Installation

General Equipment
Two leg puller

Removal

  1. Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).

  1. Secure the halfshaft to one side.

  1. Special Tool(s): 303-112

Installation
  1. Special Tool(s): 205-115

  1. Remove the special tool before completely installing the halfshaft.
    Special Tool(s): 205-775

  1. Torque: 25 Nm

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Install a new tie rod end nut.
    Torque: 80 Nm

  1. WARNING:
    WARNING:Install a new lower arm ball joint nut.
    Torque:
    Lower arm ball joint retaining nut flat diameter 24 mm 150 Nm
    Lower arm ball joint retaining nut flat diameter 30 mm 250 Nm
  1. Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
  1. Refer to: Transmission Draining and Filling (308-03E Manual Transmission/Transaxle - Vehicles With: 6-Speed Manual Transmission (VMT6), General Procedures).
