Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Remove the sliding door trim panel. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.
    Detach the watershield from the sliding door panel.

  1. Remove the sliding door lock knob.
Vehicles with central locking
  1. Disconnect the sliding door lock actuator electrical connector.
Vehicles without central locking
  1. Remove the sliding door lock cylinder.
    For additional information, refer to Sliding Door Lock Cylinder in this section.
All vehicles
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the sliding door latch is in the locked position.
    Remove the sliding door latch retaining bolts.

  1. Disconnect the exterior sliding door handle actuating cable.
    1. Detach the outer cable.
    1. Disconnect the inner cable.

  1. Disconnect the sliding door latch remote control cable.
    1. Detach the outer cable.
    1. Disconnect the inner cable.

  1. Remove the sliding door lock actuator.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
