WARNING: place air bag module on bench with trim cover facing up to avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury.
5. Disconnect air bag wire harness connector and horn control wire connector and remove driver side air bag module.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Fill out and return air bag traceability postcard for new air bag with VIN numbers. Note diagnostic trouble code.
1. Connect driver air bag wiring to air bag sliding contact connector.
2. Connect horn connector.
3. Position driver side air bag module to steering wheel and secure with two screw and washer assemblies. Tighten to 9-12 Nm (7-9 lb ft).
4. Install two steering wheel back cover plugs.
5. Reconnect positive battery cable.
6. Reconnect battery ground cable.
7. Prove out air bag system.
