In the passenger compartment, disconnect the brake light switch electrical connector, (Figure 5).

Remove the master cylinder push rod bolt (Figure 5) and disconnect the push rod from the pedal. Discard the push rod bolt nuts. They
are not reusable.

Remove the master cylinder mounting bracket stud nuts, (Figure 5).

In the engine compartment, disconnect the reservoir vent hose and cut the reservoir vent hose nipple at the inner fender, leaving the
remainder of the connector to plug the hole, (Figure 6). The new reservoir cap will not have this vent hose.
