Speaker: Testing and Inspection

Front Center Speaker Inspection

FRONT CENTER SPEAKER INSPECTION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the center panel upper.  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Center Panel Upper Removal/Installation

3. Remove the front center speaker.  See: Service and Repair/Front Center Speaker Removal/Installation

4. Verify the resistance between the front center speaker terminals.

-

If not within the specification, replace the front center speaker.

Resistance

-

2.24-3.96 ohms

Rear Center Speaker Inspection

REAR CENTER SPEAKER INSPECTION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the following parts: 

a. High-mount brake light (See  See: Lighting and Horns/Center Mounted Brake Lamp/Service and Repair)

b. Rear seat cushion (See  See: Body and Frame/Seats/Seat Cushion/Service and Repair/Rear Seat Cushion Removal/Installation)

c. Rear side seat back  See: Body and Frame/Seats/Service and Repair/Overhaul/Rear Side Seat Back Removal/Installation

d. C-pillar trim  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Trim Panel/Service and Repair/C-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation

e. Rear package trim  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Rear Shelf/Service and Repair

f.

Rear center speaker  See: Service and Repair/Rear Center Speaker Removal/Installation

3. Verify the resistance between the rear center speaker terminals.

-

If not within the specification, replace the rear center speaker.
