Sunroof - Will Tilt but Won't Slide Back

1995-97 SENTRA/200SX SUNROOF FRONT LATCH REPAIR

APPLIED VEHICLE: 
1995-97 Sentra/200SX (B14) equipped with sunroof

SERVICE INFORMATION

If the sunroof in a 1995-97 Sentra/200SX will tilt up, but not go back, the cause may be a front sunroof rail latch that does not engage.

Use the following procedure to diagnose and repair the incident.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Tilt the sunroof up. Grasp each side of the sunroof and test for rearward movement (see Figure 1). If either side of the sunroof will move to the
rear, the front latch on that side is not engaged.

2.

Remove the glass as follows (see Figure 2):

A.

Unsnap and remove the right and left inner plastic side covers.

B.

Remove the bolts that secure the glass.
