Fuel flow: check
l  Fuel pressure must be correct, check → Chapter.
l  Intake manifold bottom part removed.
l  Injectors are installed in the fuel rail and the fuel line is connected.
–  Insert injector to be checked into measuring beaker of the injection rate tester -V.A.G 1602-.
–  Remove the rear right seat → Rep. gr.72
   
–  Remove cover from fuel delivery unit.

–  First check if the connector -arrow- has been inserted correctly; pull on the connector without pressing the locking mechanism. Malfunctions may arise when the connector has not been inserted correctly.
–  Extract the connector -arrow- from the fuel delivery unit.
–  Check the contact on the plug connector and the fuel supply unit for damage.

–  Connect the adapter for the DSO measuring/oscilloscope module (5 contacts) -VAS 5565-to the connector in the fuel supply unit.
–  Connect the remote control for V.A.G 1348 -V.A.G 1348/3A- to the measurement adapter / DSO (5 poles) -VAS 5565- and to battery positive (+).

–  Connect a contact of the injector to be tested to engine earth using adapter cable from Auxiliary measuring tool -V.A.G 1594 C-.
–  Connect a second injector contact to remote control -V.A.G 1348/3 A- using adapter cable -V.A.G 1348/3 - 2-.
–  Connect crocodile clip to battery (+).
–  Activate remote control -V.A.G 1348/3 A- for 30 seconds.
–  Repeat check on other injectors. To do this use new measuring glasses.
–  After all injectors have been activated, place the measuring glasses on a horizontal surface and compare the injected quantity. Specification: 85 … 105 ml per injection valve.
When checking the injection quantity, also check the spray pattern. The spray pattern should be the same for all the injectors.
If the measured values of one or more injectors lie above or below the prescribed specifications:
–  Renew defective injector → Chapter.
  Note
When replacing the injectors, erase the self adapting values and re-adapt to the engine control unit → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051„Guided functions“.
