Renewing gear oil Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Extractor -SAT 1100-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262 A- with -VAS 6262/4-

Note t  Observe rules for cleanliness when working on gearbox → Chapter. t  Refer to general repair instructions → Chapter. t  Observe notes on gearbox, disposing of oil → Chapter. The gearbox is filled for life. It is not possible to check the oil level on this gearbox. If the gearbox is leaking, trace the cause of the leak and repair as required. Then the gearbox oil must be completely drained off and the gearbox filled with new gear oil. Conditions l  Engine off. l  Shift selector lever into position „P“.

Operation process –  Remove the centre sound insulation → Bodywork, exterior installation work; Rep. gr.50 –  Fit the tray oil extractor -SAT 1100- beneath gearbox.

–  Remove oil drain plug -arrow- from gearbox. –  Allow the gear oil to drain out. –  First repair this leak. –  Fit drain plug. When the gearbox is fitted, the battery must be removed to fill with oil.   Caution When disconnecting the battery there is a risk of serious damage to electronic components: Observe the correct procedure for disconnecting the battery → Rep. gr.27.

–  Remove battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27 . –  Put the gear selector lever into position „P“. –  Remove the air cleaner housing → Injection and ignition system ; Rep. gr.24.

–  Remove the cap of the bleeder -arrow-, that is located next to the lever for the selector shaft.   Note For illustration purposes, the installation position is shown with the gearbox removed.   Caution Risk of damage to the gearbox. The adapter for the oil filling -VAS 6262 A- with -VAS 6262/4- must be clean. The gear oil should not be mixed with other oils!

–  Screw the gearbox oil filling bottle for 7-speed dual clutch gearbox onto the adapter for the oil filling -VAS 6262 A-. Part number → Electronic parts catalogue. –  Position the filling bottle so that no oil can enter the filling hose.

–  Connect the adapter -VAS 6262/4- to the filling hose and fit to the bleeder to the gearbox. –  Turn over the filling bottle and fill the amount required. Capacity: 1.7 litres of oil. Do not fill any more or any less oil. Malfunctions would result!

–  Remove the adapter -VAS 6262/4- and fit the cap onto the bleeder -arrow-. –  If removed, reinstall the air filter housing → Injection and ignition system ; Rep. gr.24.
