Selector lever cable: verification and adjustment > < Removing

Fitting
t  Ensure that the protecting sheath of the gear selection lever is not damaged, this may only be changed along with the cable itself.
t  Before fitting the cable, lubricate lightly the end guard.
t  Ensure that the protection sheath is correctly attached and fit it without twisting.
t  Avoid bending or twisting the selector lever cable.
t  The gear selector lever and the gear selection bar link are in position “P”, and the front wheels are locked.
   
–  Insert the gear selector lever cable -3- after replacing the gasket.
–  Insert the cable into the gear selector lever -2-.
–  Attach a new securing washer -1- for holding the cable in place.
Installation position:
the layered end of the securing washer should be facing the inside of the gear change assembly casing.
–  Change the gear selector lever from position “P” to “1”.
l  The gear change and the movement of the cable should not be difficult, if necessary, replace the cable or repair the gear selection mechanism
–  Put the gear selector lever into position “P”.

–  Unscrew the bolt -arrow 2-.
–  Insert the gear selector lever cable into the support bracket on the gearbox and on the link of the selection bar.
–  Attach a new securing washer -arrow1- onto the end of the gear selector lever cable which goes into the support bracket on the gearbox.
–  Tighten the bolt -arrow 2- to 8 Nm.
–  Fit a new gasket on the selector lever assembly, to do so grease the gasket groove to prevent it from falling.
–  Bolt the cover of the gear selector assembly casing
–  Replace the thermal protection plate .
–  Fit the lower pipe bracket of the exhaust, tighten the nuts to 25 Nm.
–  Fasten the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold and tighten nuts to a torque of 40 Nm.
–  Join the exhaust pipe to the double clamp and tighten nuts to a torque of 40 Nm.
–  Connect the Lambda probe connector.
–  Mount the floor protection.
–  Check the gear selection mechanism → Chapter.
