Removing and fitting the condenser
  Note
Depending on the vehicle version, there are different types of condensers → Parts catalogue.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Venting device for the air conditioner -SAT 4006D-
Removal:
–  Empty the refrigerant circuit → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a SEAT.
–  Remove the front bumper → Exterior body installation work; Rep. gr.63.
–  Detach refrigerant lines from condenser → Chapter.
–  Place the lock carrier plate into service position →  Bodywork, exterior fitting work ; Rep. gr.50
–  Remove the ventilators for the refrigerant -B- with the allotment → Engine, mechanics; Rep. gr.19

–  Remove the bolts -A- and release the radiator (with condenser) -B- from the front module -C- → Engine, mechanics; Rep. gr.19.

–  Remove bolts -A- (tightening torque 5 Nm).
–  Detach condenser -C- from radiator -D-.
–  Remove the condenser -C- upwards.
Installation
Attach in reverse order; note the following:
–  Pay attention to proper bonding of sealing strips -E- and -F- at condenser -C- (not provided with all versions).
  Note
t  Inside the condenser that has been removed, there is refrigeration oil that must be added to the refrigeration circuit (with the new condenser) → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a SEAT.
t  Depending on the version of the vehicle and the water radiator, there may be a spacer -G- fitted fitted as shown in the diagram.

t  Depending on vehicle model, lower area of condenser -A- may additionally be provided with a stone deflector -B- secured by means of clips -C-.
–  Empty the refrigerant circuit and refill it → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a SEAT.
