Removing and installing receiver   Note t  Under certain circumstances, the condensation liquid tank with dryer does not need be renewed each time the refrigerant circuit is opened. Refer to ELSA under Heating, ventilation, air conditioning system; Air conditioning system with refrigerant R134a → Rep. gr.00; Technical data; Renewing components.

t  There are different versions of the liquid tank -C- and the condenser -B- (one or two securing bolts -D- and -E- for the liquid tank) → Parts catalogue. t  When the liquid tank has been fixed with two screws, the screw -E- in the front modules -A-, that do have an opening -F- (Introduction has not been determined), should only be replaced when the condenser has been removed or drill a hole in the front area (diameter, approx. 14 mm) (in this case, you should proceed with great care so that the radiator or condenser is not damaged when performing the drilling). t  Inside the tank that has been removed, there is refrigeration oil that must be added to the refrigeration circuit (with the new tank) → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a SEAT. t  Adjustment of oil quantity depends on nature of complaint. t  If, for example, reservoir has been damaged in an accident (no loss of refrigerant, no penetration of moisture and dirt into refrigerant circuit), air conditioner can be serviced by weighing old and new reservoir without the need for extensive repair work. Pour refrigerant oil into new receiver until it weighs the same as the receiver removed. t  If an indeterminate amount of refrigerant oil has escaped or dirt and moisture have penetrated into refrigerant circuit, it must be cleaned using compressed air and nitrogen → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a SEAT. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Venting device for the air conditioner -SAT 4006D- Removal: –  Empty the refrigerant circuit → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a SEAT. –  Remove the front bumper → Exterior body installation work; Rep. gr.63.

–  Unscrew the bolts -D- and -E- (bolt -E- not always fitted) (torque 10 Nm).

–  Unscrew the bolts -B- (tightening torque: 10 Nm). –  Slide bracket -C- downwards out of mounting of condenser -E--arrow-. –  Lift receiver -D- out of condenser -E--arrow-. Installation Attach in reverse order; note the following: Before fitting the tank → Air conditioning - with refrigerant R134a SEAT.

–  Clean contact surface of condenser -C-. –  Replace all O-ring seals -A- and -B-. Version → Parts catalogue.   Note t  Coat O-rings lightly with refrigerant oil before fitting → Chapter.

t  Observe correct assignment and make sure O-rings are correctly seated in grooves of corresponding mounting. t  Cover all open junctions. t  Keep reservoir closed as long as possible; only remove caps immediately prior to installation (reservoir contains a desiccant bag which soon becomes saturated with moisture and thus unusable when reservoir is open).
