Control unit for fresh air fan -J126-: removing and fitting
  Note
t  The fresh air fan control unit -J126- can only be replaced separately in the version which is not firmly attached to the fan itself (gradual introduction from model year 2007).
t  There are different spare parts for the fresh air fan control unit -J126-; note the correct assignation → Parts catalogue.
   
t  With the ignition connected and the fresh air fan -V2- activated, the fresh air fan control unit -J126- connects the “positive” contact “4” of the connector -C- to contact “1”of connector -B-. The fresh air fan -V2-speed is controlled by the fresh air fan control unit -J126- via the earth connection between contact “2” of connector -B- and contact “3” of connector -C- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations and → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 in the function "Guided fault finding".
Removing
–  Remove the glove compartment: → Bodywork - Interior fitting work; Rep. Gr.68

–  Detach the connectors -B- and -C-.
  WARNING
The heat diffuser of the fresh air fan control unit -J126- can get very hot.
–  Remove the bolt -A-.
–  Remove the fresh air fan control unit -J126--D- from its housing in the fresh air fan -V2-
Fitting
Re-install all parts removed in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
  Note
t  When fitting, bear in mind that the fresh air fan control unit -J126--D- sits correctly in the housing of the fresh air fan -V2-.
t  After fitting, test operation of the fresh air fan control unit -J126- and the fresh air turbine -V2-.
–  Consult the fault memory of the control and indication panel Climatronic control unit -J255- and erase the faults that appear. → Measurement, information and diagnosis of vehicles system VAS 5051 in "Guided fault finding" function.
–  Carry out the basic setting and diagnosis of the air conditioning actuators the consult the fault memory once again. → Measurement, information and diagnosis of vehicles system VAS 5051 in "Guided fault finding" function.
