Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Tray -V.A.G 1306-
  W00-0512
t  Pliers for strip clamps -T20029-
t  Anti-freeze protection checker
Remove
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Separate the upper coolant hose from the radiator.
–  Remove the connectors from the heat switch and the fan motor.
–  Remove the fan screen and the fan(s).
–  Loosen the radiator securing bolts and remove the radiator.
Vehicles with an air conditioner:
–  Follow the additional indications and assembly work sequences → Anchor.
Assembly
Carry out assembly in the reverse order, following these steps:
Refill coolant → Chapter.

  Caution
Do not open the air conditioner cooling agent circuit.
  Note!
To avoid damage in the condenser and in the cooling agent tubes/hoses, be sure not to excessively bend, twist or stretch the tubes/hoses.
–  Unscrew the clamp(s) from the hoses of cooling agent.
–  Set the lock holder cover in the service position, with the help of the centring part of -T20089-.
–  Remove the fasteners from the left side of the radiator. To do so, the left headlight must be removed.
–  Remove the condenser from the radiator.
   Fix the condenser to the bodywork so that the tubes/hoses of cooling agent are loose.
