Removing and installing track rod > < Removal:
Installation
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
The transversal swinging arm should only be bolted once the measured dimension has been reached, prior to assembly, between the centre of the wheel hub and the lower rim of the wheel housing → Chapter.
   
–  Do not forget the position mark of the off-centre bolt -arrow- made on the strut.
Vehicles with dynamic headlight range control
  Caution
The level sender rod should point towards the outside of the vehicle
–  Fit the link rod of the vehicle level sender -G76--arrow A-.
Continued for all vehicles
  A42-0422
–  Tighten the bolt -arrow- of the lower transversal swinging arm -1-.

Specified torques

Lower transversal swinging arm to steering knuckle
t  Use new nuts and bolts
t  Tighten threaded connections only when vehicle is in the normal running position
90 Nm + 90°
Lower transversal swinging arm to strut
t  Use new nuts
t  Tighten threaded connections only when vehicle is in the normal running position
95 Nm

–  Check and adjust wheel alignment → Chapter.
–  Carry out the headlight adjustment → Booklet4.
