Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Micrometer sphere -V.A.G 1435-
Checking axial run-out
–  Apply a prior stress of 2 mm to the micrometer dial.

–  Fit the micrometer dial on the tyre sidewall.
–  Turn the wheel slowly.
–  Note the minimum and maximum values recorded.
  Note
If the difference is over 1.3 mm, there is too much axial run-out.
In this case, the axial run-out can be reduced by applying the Match balancing → Chapter.
Ignore the one-off peak measurements on the micrometer caused by the elevation or depression of the material.
Checking radial run-out
–  Apply a prior stress of 2 mm to the micrometer dial.
  N44-0232
–  Fit the micrometer dial on the tyre band.
–  Turn the wheel slowly.
–  Note the minimum and maximum values recorded.
  Note
If the difference is over 1 mm, there is too much axial run-out.
In this case, the radial run-out can be reduced by applying Match balancing → Chapter.
