Loosening the tyres > < Safety instructions and conditions
Prerequisites for assembly:
Prerequisites for assembly:
Heating cold tyres to the minimum temperature required for the assembly
  Note
These instructions also apply for the ultra high performance tyres (height-width ratio less than or equal to 45% and speed symbol greater than or equal to V).
  WARNING
The minimum temperature for the tyre assembly may not be below 15 ºC nor over 30 ºC at the inner side of the tyre.
l  The temperature of the inside of the tyre must be at least 15 °C, so that a tyre can be assembled at the top side and bead without being damaged.
l  This temperature is described as core temperature.
l  Since rubber is a poor heat conductor, a cold tyre must remain sufficiently long in a temperate environment until the inner rubber layers have heated to at least 15 ° C.
l  The temperature on the tyre surface cannot used as reference to the inner temperature during heating.
l  Cold tyres may not be stacked so that they will absorb the heat of the ambient air as quickly. They should be stored separately, so that the warm air can circulate individual tyres easily.
l  The tyres may not be stored in front of a heater or be heated with a hot air gun, since critical temperatures can be reached very quickly on their surface.
l  Except for warming with warm water or warm ambient air (max. 50 °C), there is no process available for warming tyres without damaging the tyre!
l  If cold tyres (with temperatures below 0 °C) are brought into a warm environment (above 0 °C), a frost layer forms immediately on the tyre surface. This frost layer shows that the tyre intensively absorbs the ambient heat, whereby the humidity condensates.
l  As soon as the frost layer melts and condensate forms, it must be dried with a cloth, so that the heating process is not decreased by the low evaporation temperature.
Warming times:
t  Assuming a minimum room temperature of 19 °C and a tyre temperature of 0 °C or more, a tyre should be kept at least at 19 °C for at least 2 hours
t  Assuming a minimum room temperature of 19 °C and a tyre temperature of below 0 °C, a tyre should be kept at least at 19 °C for at least 2.5 hours
Recommendation for heating:
t  The tyres must be stored inside the shop 1 day prior to their assembly whenever possible (work preparation).
t  Store on an insulated base, pallet or the like, as high up as possible
t  Store the tyres separately, so that the air can circulate the individual tyres.
t  Wipe off condensation
t  Do not heat the tyres with a heater or a hot air gun!
