Removing and installing swivel joint Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-

t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332- Removing

–  Separate bolted connection for wheel bearing housing/lower swivel joint -arrow-. –  Remove stub axle -1- from pin.

–  Press swivel joint out. A -  Commercially available puller e.g. -Kukko 204/2-   Note Only use puller with tensioning arm. Installing

To fit the nut, brace shank with Allen key -7 mm-. 1 -  7 mm Allen key Use new self-locking nut Install in reverse order.

Specified torques

Bolt	Specified torque
Swivel joint to wheel bearing housing	55 Nm
Swivel joint to suspension link t  Use new nut	30 Nm + 90° further
