t  Catch pan, e.g. -VAS 6208-

Removing
  Note
Always replace seals and gasket rings.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Remove alternator → Electrical System; Rep. gr.27.
–  Detach coolant hoses from connection fitting.
   
–  Unscrew the fixing bolts -1- of the connection fittings -2- and remove connection fitting -2- with coolant regulator -4-.
–  Turn coolant thermostat -4- 90° (1/4 turn) to the left and remove from connection fitting -2-.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Moisten new O-ring -3- with coolant.
–  Fit coolant regulator -4- in the connection fitting -2- and turn 90° (1/4 turn) to the right.
  Note
Coolant thermostat arms must be virtually vertical.

–  Insert connection fitting -2- together with coolant thermostat -4- into the engine block.
   Tightening torque: 15 Nm
–  Top up coolant → Chapter.
