Testing intake manifold preheating

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Cooling spray

Testing control flap

–	Remove engine cover with air filter → Chapter.

For engine with identification characters AWY

–	Check position -1- of the regulating flap.

For engine with identification characters AZQ, BME

–	Check position of the regulating flap -1-.

Continued for all engines

t	The flap must close off the warm air connection when the temperature exceeds 23°C.

t	The flap must open the warm air connection when the temperature is below 10°C.

Note

The operation of the thermo-element -2- can easily be tested by spraying on a cooling spray.
