Calculating maximum permissible reworking dimension
Calculating maximum permissible reworking dimension
–  Insert valve and press firmly against the valve seat.
  Note
If the valve is replaced when carrying out repair work, use a new valve for the measurement.
   
–  Measure distance -a- vertically between end of valve stem and top edge of cylinder head -1-.
–  Calculate max. permissible reworking dimension from the distance measured and the minimum dimension.
Minimum dimension:
t  Inlet valve on the outside: 31.0 mm
t  Inlet valve in the middle: 32.3 mm
t  Exhaust valve: 31.9 mm
Distance measured -a- minus minimum dimension = max. permissible reworking dimension.
Example:
  N15-0438
 measured distance -a-31.4 mm
-Minimum dimension31.0 mm
=max. permissible reworking dimension0.4 mm

  Note
If the max. permissible reworking dimension is 0°mm or less, repeat measurement with a new valve. If the max. permissible reworking dimension is again 0°mm or less, replace cylinder head.
