Removing and installing parts of the exhaust gas recirculation system
1 - 25 Nm
q   replace
q   Coat thread with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3-
2 - Bottom connection pipe
q   for exhaust gas recirculation
q   when installing first of all screw on loosely, then tighten the screws
  Caution
Pay attention that the decoupling element of the connection pipe is not bent or overstretched. There is a risk of crack formation.
3 - 22 Nm
q   Coat thread with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3-
4 - Gasket
q   replace
5 - Coolant hose
6 - EGR valve -N18- with EGR potentiometer -G212- and with EGR control motor -V338-
q   before installing, check sealing surfaces at intake manifold for dirt and clean as required
  Note
t  After replacing, adapt new part as follows:
t  Switch ignition on and off; then wait 1 minute for the afterrun of the control units,
t  Start engine and run in idle for at least 1 minute,
t  Interrogate fault memory → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051, no fault should be stored in the fault memory.
t  If a fault occurs, erase the fault memory and repeat the entire work procedure.
7 - 10 Nm
8 - O-ring
q   replace
9 - Intake manifold
10 - Top connection pipe
q   for exhaust gas recirculation
q   when installing first of all screw on loosely, then tighten the screws
  Caution
Pay attention that the decoupling element of the connection pipe is not bent or overstretched. There is a risk of crack formation.
11 - Radiator
for exhaust gas recirculation
