Installing the torque converter
Installing the torque converter
–  Push the torque converter hub through the seal ring up to the first stop.
–  Turn the converter inwards, applying slight pressure, until the recess in the converter hub engages in the driver of the pump gear and the converter can be felt to slide in.

If the converter is fitted properly then the distance between the contact surfaces below the threaded holes on the converter and the contact surface of the converter bell near the automatic gearbox 01V is about 23 mm.
If the converter is not correctly inserted, the gap is about 11 mm.
  WARNING
If the converter is installed wrongly the driver of the converter or the ATF pump will be destroyed when the gearbox on the engine is connected at its flange.
