6. ASSEMBLE BOOT CLAMPS AND DYNAMIC DAMPER CLAMP (RH DRIVE SHAFT)

(a) Be sure the boots are on the shaft groove.
(b) Set the drive shaft length to the standard.

Standard length:
LH shaft

528.3 ± 5.0 mm (20.799 ± 0.197 in.)

RH shaft

842.7 ± 5.0 mm (33.177 ± 0.197 in.)

(c) Bend the clamp and lock it as shown in the image.

Saginaw Type

FRONT DRIVE SHAFT DISASSEMBLY SAGINAW type:

1. CHECK DRIVE SHAFT

(a) Check to see that there is no play in the outboard joint.
(b) Check to see that the inboard joint slides smoothly in the thrust direction.
(c) Check to see that there is no obvious play in the radial direction of the inboard joint.
(d) Check for damage to boots.
