(c) Using a brass bar and a hammer, engage the rear drive shaft assembly to the rear differential carrier assembly.

NOTICE:
*

Set the rear drive shaft snap ring with the opening facing downward.

*

Be careful not to damage the rear differential side gear shaft oil seal, rear drive shaft inboard joint boot and rear drive shaft dust
cover.

*

Install the rear drive shaft assembly while keeping it level.

18. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY   See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Control Arm/Service and Repair/Rear

Lower Arm/Installation

19. INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ HID Headlight System)   See: Steering and

Suspension/Suspension/Control Arm/Service and Repair/Rear Lower Arm/Installation

20. INSTALL REAR STRUT ROD ASSEMBLY   See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Trailing Arm/Service and Repair/Installation

21. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY   See: Body and Frame/Frame/Cross-Member/Rear Cross-Member/Service and

Repair/Installation

22. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT   See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Rear Drive Shaft Assembly/Installation

23. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR   See: Body and Frame/Frame/Cross-Member/Rear Cross-Member/Service and Repair/Installation

24. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

(a) Install the center exhaust pipe assembly.

Refer to the instructions for Installation of the exhaust pipe

25. ADD DIFFERENTIAL OIL

(a) Remove the rear differential carrier cover plug.

(b) Add differential oil    See: Fluid - Differential/Service and Repair.

26. INSPECT AND ADJUST DIFFERENTIAL OIL   See: Fluid - Differential/Service and Repair

27. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER COVER PLUG   See: Fluid - Differential/Service and Repair
