Piston Projection, Check
 Clean
Remove combustion residue at the cylinder block sealing surface
and at the piston head before measuring.
Inspect
|
Place Measuring Bar KM-301 on cylinder block. Insert Dial Gauge
MKM-571-B in Measuring Bar KM-301 and fasten under tension. Set
probe of dial gauge on cylinder block and set to "0".
Place Measuring Bridge KM-301 with Dial Gauge MKM-571-B above
piston with probe of dial gauge resting on piston head.

Measure
Measure projection of piston head at three positions per piston
(arrows).

Caution
The cylinder head gasket to be used must be selected according
to the piston projection measured.
Permissible piston projection: 0.65 mm
to 0.95 mm.

If the piston projection measurement for only one value is 0.05
mm or more above the upper limit of the relevant gasket selection
