Open service aperture in lower engine compartment cover. Remove
oil drain bolt – collect escaping engine oil.
For Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR: detach wiring harness plug
(1) from exhaust gas recirculation valve.
For Y 20 DTH up to MY 2003: Remove charge air hose to inlet
manifold upper section - see illustration "Air duct Y 20 DTH up to
MY 2003".
With oil drain screw open - remove cover (2) from oil filter
housing and remove oil filter insert.
Install
Install oil seals (3). Attach cover with new oil filter insert
(4) to oil filter casing – tightening torque 20 – 25 Nm
/ 15 - 18.5 lbf. ft..
For Y 20 DTH up to MY 2003: Fit charge air hose to inlet
manifold upper section - see illustration "Air duct Y 20 DTH up to
MY 2003".
For Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR: Attach wiring harness plug
to exhaust gas recirculation valve.
Attach oil drain screw to oil pan with new oil seal - tightening
torque 10 Nm / 7.5 lbf. ft. Close service opening. Fill with
prescribed quantity of engine oil.
