Injectors, Remove and Install (Z 16 SE)
Caution
Fuel leak – observe safety regulations and national
legislation. Reduce fuel pressure with Pressure Tester
KM-J-34730-91 via testing port – collect escaping fuel in
suitable container.

 Remove
Disconnect wiring harness plugs (1) and (2) from intake air
temperature sensor and tank vent valve.
Remove air intake hose with engine vent hose – see
illustration "Air Ducts (Z 16 SE)".
Disconnect wiring harness plug (3) from oxygen sensor, (7)
throttle body and (6) camshaft sensor.
Detach wiring harness plug (4) from injectors and place wiring
harness (5) aside.

Detach fuel line (2) from fuel distributor pipe (5) and unclip
from bracket (3).
Remove fuel distributor pipe fastening bolts (4) and pull fuel
distributor pipe with injectors from intake manifold.
Remove each injector (1) from fuel distributor pipe –
remove spring clip (6).

Install
Insert injector in fuel distributor pipe with new seal rings
– secure with spring clip.
Insert fuel distributor pipe with injectors in intake manifold
and attach to intake manifold with fastening bolts –
tightening torque 4 Nm / 3 lbf. ft.
Attach fuel line to fuel distributor pipe and clip in
bracket.
Connect wiring harness plugs to injectors and route wiring
harness.
Connect wiring harness plug to camshaft sensor, tank vent valve,
throttle body and oxygen sensor.
Attach engine vent and air intake hose – see illustration
"Air Ducts (Z 16 SE)".
Connect wiring harness plug to intake air temperature
sensor.
