Replace Curtain Airbag (not deployed) - L35 from MJ 2007

  Remove

1.   Remove moulded headlining
•   L35 - with adjustable rear seat bench LUREF_1.gif
•   L35 - without adjustable rear seat bench LUREF_1.gif
Object Number: 10678904  Size: DEFAULT

2.   Remove curtain airbag
Note:   The curtain airbag cannot be removed without destroying it and must be replaced.
•   Release and disconnect wiring harness plug
•   Unscrew 6x screws (2)
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
•   Bend up 6x locks (3)
•   Bend up 6x clamps (4)

  Install

3.   Attach guide strip (1) to new curtain airbag
•   Insert guide strip

4.   Install new curtain airbag
Note:   Ensure that the bent fastening clamps lie fully on the body!
•   Tighten 8x bolts 1.5 Nm
•   Connect and latch wiring harness plug
5.   Attach curtain airbag in area of A-pillar (1)
6.   Attach curtain airbag in area of C-pillar (2)

7.   Install moulded headlining
•   L35 - with adjustable rear seat bench LUREF_1.gif
•   L35 - without adjustable rear seat bench LUREF_1.gif
8.   Readiness indicator
Note:   After ignition ON, the airbag system readiness indicator illuminates for 4 seconds and then goes out
