C-060 - Fuse FE18 Circuit

Test

Work Order Description

Nominal Value

T001

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Reconnect all disconnected components
  • All consumers turned off
  • Ignition ON
  • Insert new fuse FE18 and then check the fuse for proper operation.

Test okay?

Yes: No:
T002

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Start engine
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    FE18 Fuse

Test okay?

Yes: No:
T003

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    K1_X125 Relay - Starter
  • Ignition ON
  • No gear is engaged
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    K1_X125 Relay - Starter
    Socket Terminal 87
    &
    Battery voltage
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    Fuse of the fused jumper wire

Test okay?

Yes: No:
T004

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Remove fused jumper wire
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
  • No gear is engaged
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Socket Terminal 4 (XE3)
    &
    Battery voltage
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    Fuse of the fused jumper wire

Yes: No:

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    S187 Switch - Automatic Transmission
  • Insert new fuse into the socket of the fused jumper wire and then check this fuse for proper operation.

Test okay?

Yes: No:
T008

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Remove fused jumper wire
  • No gear is engaged
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    S187 Switch - Automatic Transmission
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 10
    &
    Battery voltage
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    Fuse of the fused jumper wire

Cause Of Fault

E001 Result: System Overload
  • A temporary current overload in the system behind fuse FE18 has occurred
E002 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    K1_X125 Relay - Starter
E003 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E004 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Socket Terminal 4 (XE3)
    &
    M15 Starter
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 50

or

  • Defective component:
    M15 Starter
E005 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    S187 Switch - Automatic Transmission
E006 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    S187 Switch - Automatic Transmission
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 10
    &
    M15 Starter
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 50

  • Defective component:
    M15 Starter
E007 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Socket Terminal 4 (XE3)
    &
    S187 Switch - Automatic Transmission
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 6

  • The selected Checking Procedure is not valid for this vehicle configuration.
