Remedy:

In case of customer complaint check if paint damage is caused 
by grinding of liftgate on rear bumper fascia.

Working Procedure:

 1. Check areas on liftgate (1) and rear bumper fascia (2) on both 
    sides for paint damage in shown areas (Picture I)

 2. If the liftgate/bumper fascia show paint damage due to contact 
    condition procedd as follows

 3. Remove rear bumper fascia

    - see working procedure "Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement 
      (Wagon 35)", group "Body Repair / Bumpers and Fascias", 
      Service Instruction Astra-J.
      (Document Number 92446922)

 4. Repair paint damage on liftgate and rear bumper fascia

 5. Remove rear bumper fascia outer bracket(s)

    - Drill out 6 rivets

 6. Install rear bumper fascia outer bracket(s) (Picture II, 1)

    - Fix with 6 rivets

    Note:
    Rivet the rear bumper fascia outer bracket in the following order:

- 2 Rivets (2)
- 2 Rivets (3)
- 2 Rivets (4)

    Important:
    Take care that the rear bumper fascia outer bracket is 
    riveted strainless!

 7. Install rear bumper fascia

    - see working procedure "Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement 
      (Wagon 35)", group "Body Repair / Bumpers and Fascias", 
      Service Instruction Astra-J.

 8. Check for eveness of gaps
