Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (1.6L LGE and LLU)

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.

2. Disconnect the air mass sensor wiring harness plug (2) from the air mass sensor (3).
3. Unclip the mass air flow sensor wiring harness retainer clip from the air cleaner housing (1).

4. Remove the air cleaner housing drain hose (2) from the air cleaner housing (1).

5. Remove the air cleaner outlet front duct clamp (3).
6. Remove the air cleaner outlet front duct (2) from the air cleaner housing (1).
7. Remove the air cleaner housing (1).

Disassemble Procedure

1. Remove the 2 mass air flow sensor bolts (3).
2. Remove the mass air flow sensor (2) from the air cleaner housing (1).
3. Remove the 2 air cleaner housing insulator (4).
4. Remove the air cleaner insulator (5).

5. Remove the 5 air cleaner housing bolts (1).
6. Remove the air cleaner upper housing (2) from the air cleaner lower housing (4).
7. Remove the air cleaner element (3).

8. Remove the air cleaner outlet baffle (2) from air cleaner upper housing (1).

Assemble Procedure

1. Install the air cleaner outlet baffle (2) to the air cleaner upper housing (1).

2. Install the air cleaner element (3).
3. Install the air cleaner upper housing (2) to the air cleaner lower housing (4).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .
4. Install the 5 air cleaner housing bolts (1).

5. Install the air cleaner insulator (5).
6. Install the 2 air cleaner housing insulator (4).
7. Install the mass air flow sensor (2) to the air cleaner housing (1).
8. Install the 2 mass air flow sensor bolts (3).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the air cleaner housing (1).
2. Install the air cleaner outlet front duct (2) to the air cleaner housing (1).
3. Install the air cleaner outlet front duct clamp (3).

4. Install the air cleaner housing drain hose (2) to the air cleaner housing (1).

5. Clip in the mass air flow sensor wiring harness retainer clip to the air cleaner housing (1).
6. Connect the air mass sensor wiring harness plug (2) to the air mass sensor (3).
7. Close the hood.
