Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Replacement (2.0L Diesel LBS
and LBX)
Removal Procedure

Caution: Use care when performing this procedure. Use of excessive
force may damage the coolant thermostat. |

Unclip the engine control
module bracket and hang the engine control module aside.

|
Note: Place a drain
tray underneath.
|
4. |
Loosen the engine coolant air
bleed hose clamp (3). |
5. |
Remove the engine coolant air
bleed hose (2) from the engine coolant thermostat housing (1) and
hang aside. |
6. |
Loosen the radiator inlet hose
clamp (4). |
7. |
Remove the radiator inlet hose
(5) and hang aside. |
8. |
Remove the 3 engine coolant
thermostat housing bolts (2). |
9. |
Remove the engine coolant
thermostat housing (1). |
10. |
Remove and discard the engine
coolant thermostat housing sealing (3). |
Installation Procedure
1. |
Install a NEW engine coolant
thermostat housing sealing (3). |
2. |
Install the engine coolant
thermostat housing (1). |
3. |
Install the 3 engine coolant
thermostat housing bolts and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb
in) . |
4. |
Reposition the radiator inlet
hose (5) and install the radiator inlet hose clamp (4).

5. |
Install the engine coolant air
bleed hose (2) to the engine coolant thermostat housing (1).
|
6. |
Install the engine coolant air
bleed hose clamp (3). |
7. |
Clip in the engine control
module bracket including the engine control module. |
