Oil Pump Cleaning and Inspection
Cleaning Procedure
| 1. |
Remove any old thread sealant,
gasket material or sealant. |
| 2. |
Clean all the following areas
with solvent: |

Inner and outer drive
adapters |
| 3. |
Clean all threaded and through
holes with solvent. |
| 4. |
Dry the oil pump housing with
compressed air. |
Measuring Procedure
Install the oil pump outer and inner drive adapter.
Radial Clearance Inspection
Check radial clearance between oil pump housing (1) and outer
drive adapter (2) with feeler gauge (3). Refer to
Engine Mechanical Specifications for permissible clearance.
Axial Clearance Inspection
Check axial clearance between contact surface of oil pump
housing and upper surface of drive adapters with straightedge (2)
and feeler gauge (1). Refer to
Engine Mechanical Specifications for permissible clearance.
