Camshaft Timing Chain and Sprocket Replacement

Locking Tool Timing Chain Tensioner |

Special Tools .
Removal Procedure
2. |
Tension the timing chain
tensioner in direction as shown (arrow). |
3. |
Fix the timing chain tensioner
position with EN-955-1 locking tool (1).

4. |
Remove the 2 timing chain
tensioner bolts (1). |
5. |
Remove the timing chain
tensioner (2). |
6. |
Remove the timing chain
tensioner shoe bolt (2). |
7. |
Remove the timing chain
tensioner shoe (1). |
8. |
Remove the 2 timing chain
guide bolts (2). |
9. |
Remove the timing chain guide
(1). |
10. |
Install the EN-6347
holder (1) with the EN-956-1 extension (4)
to the camshaft sprocket (2). |

Note: Counterhold the
camshaft sprocket with EN-6347 holder and
EN-956-1 extension .

11. |
Loosen the camshaft sprocket
bolt (3). |
12. |
Remove the EN-6347
holder with the EN-956-1 extension from the
camshaft sprocket. |
13. |
Remove the camshaft sprocket
bolt (1). |

Note: Remove the
camshaft sprocket (2) from the camshaft at first, then remove the
timing chain from the crankshaft sprocket (3).

14. |
Remove the camshaft sprocket
(2) with the timing chain (4). |
Installation Procedure
|
Note: Install the
timing chain to the crankshaft sprocket (3) at first.

Install the camshaft sprocket
(2) with the timing chain (4). |
|
Note: Do not tighten
the camshaft sprocket bolt.
|
2. |
Install the camshaft sprocket
bolt (1). |
3. |
Install the timing chain guide
(1). |
4. |
Install the 2 timing chain
guide bolts (2) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb
in) . |
5. |
Install the timing chain
tensioner shoe (1). |
6. |
Install the timing chain
tensioner shoe bolt (2) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb
ft) . |

Note: Fix the timing
chain tensioner position with the EN-955-1 locking
tool .

Install the timing chain
tensioner (2). |
8. |
Install the 2 timing chain
tensioner bolts (1) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb
in) . |
9. |
Remove the EN-955-1
locking tool (1) from the timing chain tensioner.

10. |
Install the EN-6347
holder (1) with the EN-956-1 extension (4)
to the camshaft sprocket (2). |
|
Note: Counterhold the
camshaft sprocket with the EN-6347 holder and the
EN-956-1 extension .
|
11. |
Tighten the camshaft sprocket
bolt (3) to 150 N·m (111 lb ft) .
|
12. |
Remove the EN-6347
holder with the EN-956-1 extension from the
camshaft sprocket. |
