Note: Lubricate the
crankshaft thrust bearings with engine oil.
|

Note: Mind the
installation position of the crankshaft thrust bearings - oil
notches in outward direction.
|
1. |
Install the crankshaft thrust
bearings (1). |
2. |
Install the crankshaft
position sensor reluctor ring (2) to the crankshaft (3).

3. |
Install the crankshaft
position sensor reluctor ring bolts (1) and tighten to 12
N·m (106 lb in) . |

Note: Lubricate the
crankshaft, the crankshaft bearings and the crankshaft bearing caps
with engine oil.

4. |
Install the 5 upper crankshaft
bearings (1). |

Install the crankshaft
(2) |
6. |
Install the 5 lower crankshaft
bearings (3) |
7. |
Install the 5 crankshaft
bearing caps (5). |
|
Note: Ensure that the
crankshaft bearings and the crankshaft bearing caps are installed
in their original position.

8. |
Install 10 NEW crankshaft
bearing cap bolts (4) |
9. |
Tighten the 10 crankshaft
bearing cap bolts in a sequence as shown to 39 N·m
(29 lb ft) . |
10. |
Tighten the crankshaft bearing
cap bolts in a sequence to an additional 60° ,
using the EN-45059 torque angle sensor .

Note: The complete
installation procedure of the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer
should be done in 10 minutes.
|
11. |
Apply the sealing compound (1)
to the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer in the shown area.
|
12. |
Install the crankshaft rear
oil seal retainer (1). |
13. |
Install the 5 crankshaft rear
oil seal retainer bolts (2). |
14. |
Tighten the crankshaft rear
oil seal retainer bolts in a sequence as shown to 10
N·m (89 lb in) . |
15. |
Install the EN-658-2
installer (2) to the crankshaft journal. |
16. |
Slide the NEW crankshaft rear
oil seal (1) onto the EN-658-2 installer .

17. |
Install the crankshaft rear
oil seal, using the EN-658-1 installer (1).
